AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU FORMER GERMAN NAZI CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP
"Stories written in objects" is the title of an online education session scheduled for 20 March 2023. It will be translated simultaneously into English.
'Memoria' is an online magazine dedicated to the history of Auschwitz, the Holocaust as well as memory and education around the world. New edition is available.
"Roma - experience of the extermination" is the title of an online educational session to be held on 23 February 2023. It will be translated simultaneously into English.
On January 27, a group of 18 Auschwitz and Holocaust Survivors met at the former Auschwitz camp to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the liberation of this German Nazi concentration and extermination camp. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
English-Polish report summarizing the year 2022 at the Auschwitz Museum and Memorial was published. In his introduction, Director Piotr M. A. Cywiński wrote: "Today we can all see and better understand how much we need memory, which is the key to planning our future".
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation has already donated more than PLN 100 million for conservation efforts to preserve authenticity at the Auschwitz Memorial. The Foundation, established in 2012, manages the Endowment Capital, which has already grossed more than €175 million.
Images from www.auschwitz.org may be used only in publications relating to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau or the activities of the Auschwitz Memorial. Their use must not tarnish the good reputation of the victims of KL Auschwitz. Any interference in the integrity of the images – including cropping or graphic processing – is prohibited. The use of the images for commercial purposes requires the Museum’s approval and information about the publication.
