A child's dress - a family memento of a former prisoner born in the camp - donated to the Museum Collections

A unique personal memento related to the fates of Maria Podstawna (previously Romik) and her mother Stefania was donated to the Auschwitz Museum Collections by Maria who was born at the German Nazi Auschwitz camp on 22 July 1943. The memento is a child’s dress made by the mother for her one-year old daughter in 1944, just after their release from the camp.
New preparation lesson for a visit to the Auschwitz Memorial

A visit to the Auschwitz Memorial is a valuable personal experience for every visitor. The International Centre for Education has prepared a special “preparation lesson for a visit to the Auschwitz Memorial” dedicated to schoolchildren and teachers planning a visit to the former Nazi Germany concentration and extermination camp. Its authors are teachers Adam Musiał and Monika Witalis-Malinowska.
Volkswagen’s gift to the Museum will help preserve Auschwitz for future generations

On 23 February 2018, a new car was donated to the Museum at the head office of Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, which will support the work of conservators at the Memorial. The cooperation between the Auschwitz Museum and Volkswagen has been going on for over two decades, and the significant element is the joint visits of German and Polish youth, who among others, assist in various works aimed at preserving the authenticity of post-camp relics.
