Online lessons on the perpetrators of crimes in Auschwitz

“The SS Garrison of Auschwitz” and “Women working for the SS” are new online lessons prepared by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust (ICEAH). They tell the history of the German Nazi camp in the context of perpetrators.

563,000 visitors to the Museum in 2021

A little over 563,000 people visited the Memorial in 2021. It is a slight increase compared to the previous year; however, it is worth remembering that in the period before the pandemic, over two million people visited the Museum every year.

Auschwitz: history, place and people - English-language academic textbook

English-language academic textbook "Auschwitz: History, Place and People. An Academic Guide to the Camp Complex" is the result of the recently completed project "Witnessing Auschwitz. Living here" carried out by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Victims Memorial Foundation, the Auschwitz Memorial and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

"Shaping the future through lessons from the past" - summary of the first part of the project

Phase one of the Polish-Israeli project "Shaping the Future through Lessons from the Past" has been concluded. The project is run jointly by the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz Museum, the Yad Vashem Institute and the Ghetto Fighters' House in Israel.

77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz - announcement

On 27 January 2022 we will commemorate the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, only a small group of guest, mainly survivors, will take part in the commemoration at the site of the Memorial. The entire event will be available in online broadcast.

Volunteers from Brynek Forestry Technical College at the Memorial

A group of students from the Stanisław Morawski Forestry Technical College in Brynek carried out voluntary work at the Auschwitz Memorial between 14 and 19 November 2021. The visit was part of the renewed cooperation between the Museum and the school regarding care for the green areas of the former camp.
