Fiat - a gift for the Memorial

On the day of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Gruppo Dirigenti Fiat presented the Museum with a Fiat Ducato. The car will be used by conservators of the Memorial.

On January 27, more than 60 Auschwitz survivors met at the site of the former Birkenau camp to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp. The central theme of the anniversary event was “Time". The President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda has assumed honorary patronage of the event.

The original personal items of Auschwitz victims, discovered in 1967 during archaeological works in the area of the gas chamber and crematorium III in Birkenau, will for the first time publicly presented at exhibitions in the Auschwitz Memorial and the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris. The exhibition "Archaeology" has been prepared on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, which we will be commemorated on 27 January 2017.

The Director of the Auschwitz Museum has appealed to the German and Austrian public to hand over documents, photos, personal letters or any other materials associated with the SS staff of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
