Support from Austria for the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation

Up to 6 million euros will be transferred to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Perpetual Fund by Austria. The agreement was signed during the meeting of the Foundation International Committee with its president, Dr. Piotr MA Cywiński, and Hannah Lessing, the secretary general of the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for victims of National Socialism.
Auschwitz Museum in the International Google Project

Two virtual exhibitions prepared by the Auschwitz Memorial Site may be viewed as a part of the Google Cultural Institute Internet platform launched on October 10, 2012. The official inauguration of the project in Poland took place in the Kubicki Arcades at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in the presence of Bogdan Zdrojewski, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and Dr. Piotr M.A. Cywiński, director of the Auschwitz Museum.
Polish-Dutch exchange of experiences

"Teaching about the Holocaust from a European perspective" is the title of the Polish-Dutch educational programme implemented by the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz Museum and the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. In Poland took place the last seminar of the project which was planned for three years and which began in February 2010....

21 September 2012, in the presence of the Polish and Ukrainian presidents, the official unveiling of the fourth cemetery of Katyn took place in the forests of Kiev-Bykivnia. Included in the Polish delegation, along with representatives of the highest government authorities and bodies of the Republic, the Polish Primate and clergy from many denominations, representatives of the Katyn Families, the command of the Polish forces and representatives of many Polish state institutions, was Dr Piotr M. A. Cywiński, director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. A mass was celebrated at the monument of Polish victims by Fr. Primate Józef Kowalczyk.
Inaugural meeting of the third term of the International Auschwitz Council

Prime Minister Donald Tusk presented the nominations of the members of the International Auschwitz Council in Warsaw. The inaugural meeting of the third term of the IAC took place on 10 September in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Władysław Bartoszewski. The new vice presidents of the IAC are: Dr Barbara Engelking and Avner Shalev. Marek Zając was reappointed as a secretary of the Council.
