The full catalogue of the Auschwitz Museum Library is now available online at www.auschwitz.org. The multilingual collection of books is one of the largest covering the history of the Nazi German Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. The collection is constantly updated with new publications.

”In our Library we try to collect various materials on Auschwitz that have been published worldwide. Our book collection consists, in general, of scientific and documental books, but also of literature, memoirs, poetry and photo albums. In our collection one can find not only modern books, but many rarities as well, published shortly after World War II and that are hard to find nowadays,” said Andrzej Kacorzyk, Deputy Director of the Museum.

In the Library, besides books on Auschwitz concentration camp, one can find many publications on World War II, the Third Reich, the Holocaust and the German occupation of Poland. The Library is also in possession of a collection of German publications — which consists of books and magazines published in the Third Reich, mostly on the political and social matters of Nazi Germany.

“Currently, the whole catalogue can be searched online. It is accessible in both Polish and English,” added Kacorzyk.

The book collection of the Museum consists of around thirty thousand books, over two and a half thousand magazines and several dozen maps. Instant access to the whole collection is available in the reading room.

The Library is open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
