'Memoria' is an online magazine dedicated to the history of Auschwitz, the Holocaust as well as memory and education around the world.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary commemorating the outbreak of the uprising in the Białystok ghetto, the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, announced U.S. support for the development of a virtual online tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial.

Father Maximilian Maria Kolbe, a Franciscan friar, was killed in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz 82 years ago on August 14, 1941. The anniversary of this event was commemorated at the Memorial. A solemn Mass was celebrated at Block 11, which housed the camp prison and where the monk was murdered.

"History, Memory and Responsibility" is the title of the English-language seminar for journalists at the Auschwitz Memorial. It will take place on 8-11 October 2022 (Oct 8 & 11 are the arrival and departure days).

"The Gypsy family camp", the so-called Zigeunerfamilienlager, located in the Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp, was liquidated by the Germans on the night of 2 - 3 August 1944. It was then that some 4,300 children, women and men - the last Roma inmates of the camp - were murdered in the gas chambers. 2 August is commemorated as Sinti and Roma Genocide Remebrance Day.

Exactly 79 years ago, at 5 pm on 1 August 1944, an armed uprising broke out in Warsaw that lasted 63 days. As a tribute to the approximately 13,000 residents of the capital deported by the Germans to Auschwitz, Anna Skrzypińska, the deputy director of the Museum, laid a wreath at the Death Wall situated in the courtyard of Block 11 in the former Auschwitz I camp at the "W" hour, marking the beginning of the fights.
