Authentic memorabilia and documents contribute to the Memory of Auschwitz

Authentic artifacts and documents connected with the history of the German Nazi Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp are so unique because they preserve and commemorate the history of people to whom they belonged. That is why all personal memorabilia donated to the Memorial are of particular importance.
Auschwitz document found in a Łódź high school handed over to the Auschwitz Archive

The management of Gabriel Narutowicz High School no. 2 in Łódź handed over what is most likely an original document of the camp that was found in the school library, to the Archives of the Auschwitz Memorial Site. This is the list of new prisoners that arrived to the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp on 21 May 1941. It contains the names of 15 prisoners deported to Auschwitz from Lodz, Poznan and Katowice.
Long-term minsterial program for financing creation of the new main exhibition

The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage will provide funding for the creation of the new main exhibition at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Site. The letter of intent in this regard was signed on March 6th in Warsaw by minister Małgorzata Omilanowska and Piotr M.A. Cywiński, director of the Museum. Project costs are estimated at ca. PLN 100 million.
International Summer Academy – recruitment

International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust announces recruitment for the Fifth International Summer Academy that is organized as part of educational programs offered by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. This year’s edition will take place from16 till 22 August in Oświęcim and Cracow, Poland.
