Fiat - a gift for the Memorial
On the day of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Gruppo Dirigenti Fiat presented the Museum with a Fiat Ducato. The car will be used by conservators of the Memorial.
The presentation took place in the presence of Gabriele Azzalini – Secretary General of Gruppo Dirigenti Fiat, Beata Dziekanowska - FCA Corporate PR Manager and Anna Skrzypińska, the Deputy Director of the Museum
It is the third vehicle donated to the Museum by the FCA. In 2015, the Museum Security received two cars: Fiat 500X and Jeep Renegade.
Gruppo Dirigenti Fiat has also been supporting the participation of the Auschwitz Memorial at the International Book Fair in Turin for several years. The company also lends out vehicles to the project “The Caravan of Memories", during which Italian version publications of the Museum are presented in schools, universities, and public institutions all over Italy.
In 2016, more than 146 thousand Italian citizens visited the Memorial. The Republic of Italy is also one of the donor countries of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, whose aim is to preserve the authentic remains of the former camp for future generations.
