AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU FORMER GERMAN NAZI CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP
The testimonies of former prisoners of Auschwitz have been made available in the historic space of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp. Visitors can, at designated locations listen to stories of direct witnesses to the events.
On May 25, the President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher, together with a group of several dozen members of the French upper house of parliament visited the Auschwitz Museum and Memorial.
The history of the military resistance movement organized by Polish political prisoners in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz is presented by a new exhibition created by the Museum at the Google Cultural Institute.
The publishing house of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum presented their multi-language publications at the International Book Fair in Turin, one of the most important cultural events in Italy, attended by over a thousand publishers.
On the 7 and 8 May, one thousand young Europeans visited the Auschwitz Memorial Site and Museum. They came to Poland as part of the special project “Train of 1,000.” The journey from Brussels to Auschwitz was organized to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and the end of World War II.
Images from www.auschwitz.org may be used only in publications relating to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau or the activities of the Auschwitz Memorial. Their use must not tarnish the good reputation of the victims of KL Auschwitz. Any interference in the integrity of the images – including cropping or graphic processing – is prohibited.
