Educational session and contest on 75th anniversary of displacement of civilian Poles related with expansion of KL Auschwitz

75 years ago, in March and April 1941, the Germans began a massive displacement of Polish civilians from the vicinity of the Auschwitz I concentration camp. To commemorate these events, on 21 April 2016 the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust organized an educational session and announced the contest entitled “Only five homes left after the war...”, under the Honorary Patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mrs Beata Szydło.
There were no “Polish death camps”. There is a simple tool, to prevent this mistake from recurring

How do we preserve the memory of the victims of Auschwitz in times when the last witnesses are leaving us? What are the challenges facing educators at the Memorial? How do we use historical photos to teach about the history of the camp? These issues among others were addressed in lectures and meetings in Moscow, by the Director of the International Centre for education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust Andrzej Kacorzyk and Paweł Sawicki of the Press Office of the Museum, who went to Russia at the invitation of the Polish Institute in Moscow.
