75 years ago, in March and April 1941, the Germans began a massive displacement of Polish civilians from the vicinity of the Auschwitz I concentration camp. To commemorate these events, on 21 April 2016 the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust organized an educational session and announced the contest entitled “Only five homes left after the war...”, under the Honorary Patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mrs Beata Szydło.

The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust has a new Council. The nominations to the international group of experts was presented at the first meeting of the new Council by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland Prof. Piotr Gliński.

International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust announces recruitment for the first edition of the International Summer Academy for Graduates (2-8 July, 2016). It is organized as part of educational programs prepared by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

A special application “Remember” is to help avoid the use of the term “Polish concentration camps” or “Polish death camps” in 16 languages. The program, which can be installed on a personal computer searches for a false phrase, underlines it and suggests the appropriate wording.

"Escapes from KL Auschwitz" is the new online lesson, prepared by the International Center For Education About Auschwitz and the Holocaust. The author is Dr. Jacek Lachendro of the Museum’s Research Centre.

How do we preserve the memory of the victims of Auschwitz in times when the last witnesses are leaving us? What are the challenges facing educators at the Memorial? How do we use historical photos to teach about the history of the camp? These issues among others were addressed in lectures and meetings in Moscow, by the Director of the International Centre for education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust Andrzej Kacorzyk and Paweł Sawicki of the Press Office of the Museum, who went to Russia at the invitation of the Polish Institute in Moscow.
