An original letter written by an SS man from the German Auschwitz camp garrison Stefan Dilmetz has been donated to the Auschwitz Memorial Archives. It is the first result of the appeal by the Museum announced in January and referred to the German and Austrian public regarding the transfer of documents, photos, or private letters related to the SS staff of KL Auschwitz.

The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum will hold an expert conference on education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust from 4-5 July 2017. It will be part of commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the creation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum.

Friends of Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, an organization supporting the activities of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation in the United States since 2013 has extended the composition of its Board of Directors.

The exhibition entitled “Forbidden Art” (Sztuka zakazana) was opened on February 9 at the library of the U.S Military Academy in West Point. The event was organised on the occasion of the recently celebrated, 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.

Personal details of SS men from the SS garrison of former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz are available in the database prepared by the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) in cooperation with the Auschwitz Museum at truthaboutcamps.eu/zalogass.

On the day of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Gruppo Dirigenti Fiat presented the Museum with a Fiat Ducato. The car will be used by conservators of the Memorial.
