Stamps for tattooing prisoners discovered Metal stamps used for tattooing Auschwitz prisoners entered the collection of the Auschwitz Museum. The German Nazi concentration and extermination camp was the only one where prisoner camp numbers were tattooed.

A new publication entitled Auschwitz from A to Z. An Illustrated History is an encyclopedia-like, richly illustrated compendium of knowledge about the history of the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.

The president of the Swiss Confederation and Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Burkhalter together with his wife visited the Auschwitz Memorial Site and Museum on 28 January 2014. They were greeted and guided around the site of the former Nazi German concentration and extermination camp by the director of the Museum, Dr Piotr M.A. Cywiński.

69th anniversary of liberation of Auschwitz

On the 27th of January 2014, 69 years have passed since the liberation of the Nazi German Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. The anniversary ceremony, which took place at the former Aushwitz II-Birkenau camp were attended by former prisoners of Auschwitz and Holocaust survivors.
