During a seminar held between September 15-20, 2024, a group of staff and guides from the Auschwitz Museum delved into the history of Izieu, a small village in the mountains of southeastern France—a site of life, hope, and tragedy during World War II.

Over 1.2 million people have already visited the Auschwitz Memorial and Museum in 2024; this year's numbers are expected to exceed 1.8 million. There is a great deal of interest in visiting the site of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp, leading many individuals to avail themselves of tour companies that provide guided visits to the Museum. Regrettably, there are cases of unethical practices that can endanger tourists in this context. Therefore, we want to reiterate the importance of being cautious when utilising unauthorised channels that sell entry passes to the Museum.

Dr. Piotr Setkiewicz, the head of the Research Center at the Auschwitz Museum, has been honored with the "Light of Remembrance"—the highest award of the Auschwitz Memorial. The award was presented to him by the director of the Auschwitz Museum, Dr. Piotr M. A. Cywiński.
