The 15th session of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation Council was held in Warsaw on 24 March. The main task of the Foundation is to finance the conservation of the authentic remains of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Thanks to the promise of the Polish Ministry of Culture, National Heritage, and Sport of almost 21,5 million zlotys it will be possible to erect the hostel together with its necessary infrastructure near the new Auschwitz Memorial Visitor Services Center, currently under construction.
Exclusions in the modern world are the topic of the International Educational Conference organized by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz Memorial. It will take place on July 7-8, 2021, and due to the pandemic will be held only online.
The Auschwitz Museum Archives has completed a two-year project, “Reconstructing the identities of deportees and prisoners of KL Auschwitz based on archival data from the Auschwitz Memorial and the Arolsen Archives.”
The Auschwitz Memorial, together with the Auschwitz-Birkenau Institute, announce the international competition “My Memory, My Responsibility. At my Place”.
Images from www.auschwitz.org may be used only in publications relating to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau or the activities of the Auschwitz Memorial. Their use must not tarnish the good reputation of the victims of KL Auschwitz. Any interference in the integrity of the images – including cropping or graphic processing – is prohibited. The use of the images for commercial purposes requires the Museum’s approval and information about the publication.
