One million people have already visited the Auschwitz Museum in 2025
In 2025, the milestone of one million visitors to the Auschwitz Memorial and Museum was surpassed on July 9, a full month earlier than the previous year.
Due to the high number of visitors, everyone planning a visit is strongly encouraged to make advance reservations through the Museum’s official website: visit.auschwitz.org.
"Similar websites can be found on the Internet, sometimes even mimicking the appearance of the official one. However, it is essential to note that reservations made through these sites do not go directly to the Museum, but rather to various intermediaries. Visitors are often unaware that such intermediaries may not even have a confirmed reservation for entry to the Museum, which they are reselling. Therefore, we take no responsibility for the actions of such companies, including, for example, visits they cancel themselves," said Museum spokesperson Bartosz Bartyzel.
The number of entry cards is limited. Both organized groups and individual visitors can book guided tours up to three months in advance.
"While entry cards for guided tours for individual visitors are usually available at the Visitor Services Center on the day of the visit, booking in advance guarantees entry at the time of your choosing," added Bartosz Bartyzel.
Please note that free entry passes for unguided visits are available exclusively through the website visit.auschwitz.org. These can be reserved between 90 and 7 days before the planned visit.
"This system has helped eliminate the long morning lines that were often filled with people brought by external tour operators charging high fees, without reservations or guaranteed access," emphasized Bartosz Bartyzel.
In addition to the traditional on-site visit through the authentic post-camp area, group visits are also possible online. Using the platform “Auschwitz in Front of Your Eyes”, an educator provides a live virtual tour of the Memorial while telling the history of the camp. We encourage schools, universities, educational institutions, and companies around the world to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the history of Auschwitz. These visits can also be booked through visit.auschwitz.org.
In 2024, the Auschwitz Memorial was visited by over 1.83 million people. Ninety percent of them learned about the history of Auschwitz with a Museum guide.
