Some 10,000 people, including 2,000 former prisoners, will attend the January observances of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. An Educational Forum devoted to Teaching the Holocaust will accompany the official ceremonies, said Andrzej Przewoźnik, secretary of the Council for the Protection of the Remembrance of Combat and Martyrdom, said in Cracow on Tuesday.

– Presidents Moshe Katzav of Israel, Vladimir Putin of Russia, Jacques Chirac of France, and Aleksander Kwaśniewski of Poland will attend the sixtieth anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp, Andrzej Przewoźnik, secretary of the Council for the Protection of the Remembrance of Fighting and Martyrdom, announced on Wednesday, November 3.

Preservation internships were held in the specialist preservation workshops of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum from June to September of this year. Students of the Preservation, Conservation, and Restoration of Art Works from Cracow, Warsaw, and Toruń took part.

Bielsko-Biała, October 25 (PAP). The Polish government has appropriated an additional 3.25 million zloty from its budget reserve for the Oświęcim Government Strategic Program (OGSP), Oświęcim local government spokeswoman Katarzyna Kwiecień announced on Monday.
