At the 72nd anniversary of creation of the Museum at the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, volunteers and representatives of institutions supporting voluntary work at the Memorial were honoured with the awards “If Not for Those Ten...”. Among them there were persons from Poland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Russia, the United States, Japan.

Sessions of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation Council

The 12th and 13th sessions of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation Council were held in Warsaw on June 10th and in Oświęcim on June 18th. The main task of the Foundation is to finance the conservation of the authentic remains of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The four-year conservation of the first brick prisoner barracks at the site of the former German Nazi Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp has come to an end. It is part of the Master Plan for Preservation (MPP), a multi annual conservation program at the Auschwitz Memorial. The MPP is funded by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation.
14 June 2019 - National Remembrance Day for Victims of the German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camps - invitation

On 14 June 2019, we will commemorate the 79th anniversary of the first transport of Poles to the German Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz created in Nazi-occupied Poland incorporated into the Third Reich. Subject to the decision of the Polish Parliament, the anniversary date is a National Remembrance Day of Victims of the German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camps. The events commemorating the anniversary will take place on 13 and 14 June in Tarnów, Harmęże and Oświęcim.
