"Archaeology" – exhibition on the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz at the Memorial and the headquarters of UNESCO

The original personal items of Auschwitz victims, discovered in 1967 during archaeological works in the area of the gas chamber and crematorium III in Birkenau, will for the first time publicly presented at exhibitions in the Auschwitz Memorial and the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris. The exhibition "Archaeology" has been prepared on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz, which we will be commemorated on 27 January 2017.

2 million 53 thousand people from all over the world visited in 2016 the site of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz and Auschwitz II-Birkenau which is protected by the Museum. This is a record number in the history of the Memorial which this year will mark the 70th anniversary of its creation.
Training for Museum educators with the representatives of Amud Aish Memorial Centre

Nearly 70 Auschwitz Museum educators-guides took part in lectures conducted by the employees and cooperators of Amud Aish Memorial Centre from New York. They constituted part of specialist training program prepared by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust, in which Auschwitz Memorial guides participate each year.
