The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum has started cooperation with The Cracow University of Economic

At the beginning of July 2010, the State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau and The Cracow University of Economics have signed an agreement for cooperation.

The agreement provides, among others, creating the opportunities for educational activities for students of the University of Economics in the form of local workshops and apprenticeships, as well as the organization of study visits to the Museum.

The educational staff of the University of Economics together with staff of the State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau are planning research associated with: the functioning of the Museum as a world heritage site, managing the movement of visitors to the Memorial Site, and improving the infrastructure of guiding visitors.

Museum staff will have the opportunity to participate in post-graduate studies and apprenticeships organized by the University of Economics.

The agreement on cooperation was signed in the name of the State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau by director Dr. Piotr M.A. Cywinski as well as the director of the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust Krystyna Oleksy. From the Cracow University of Economics, the agreement was signed by: Prof. Roman Niestroj — rector of the UE and Prof. Andrzej Malawski — deputy-rector for research.
