SAVE THE DATE: International Educational Conference on the 80th Anniversary of the Creation of the Museum, June 28-30, 2027
The year 2027 marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial at the site of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp. “We had no idea if we would survive or not, but there were talks about some kind of a memorial... […] we only knew that the humanity must not forget about the crimes committed in Auschwitz,” stressed in one of his interviews Kazimierz Smoleń, an Auschwitz Survivor and the second director of the Museum.
On this unique occasion, we would like to invite experts and colleagues from different fields of knowledge to join us to discuss the state of memory about WWII and the atrocities perpetrated by the German Nazis and their accomplices during that time as well as the new challenges and chances emerging nowadays.
The International Educational Conference, organised by the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust, will take place on June 28-30, 2027, in Oświęcim. More information, including the application process, will follow in due time.
We encourage you to take a look at the summary of the International Educational Conference “Remember. Is Memory Enough in the 21st Century?”, which took place on June 30-July 2, 2025. All panel discussions can be found in our Youtube channel.
