Representatives of the Anne Frank House at the Museum

20-04-2009

Representatives from the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam visited the State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau on April 20-22, 2009. The delegation visited the Museum in order to establish closer cooperation with the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust.

The cooperation of the two institutions began with the visit of ICEAH representatives to the Anne Frank House in October 2008. The result was the signing of an agreement of cooperation between the Anne Frank House and State Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau. The first joint project was to develop and pilot a comic book, “The Search”, as well as creating educational materials and teaching about the history of Jews and anti-Semitism.

The visit of the delegation from Holland is another step in the developing cooperation. During the visit the future cooperation of the two institutions was discussed, including: creating educational projects, publications, exhibits, seminars for employees, preparing individuals from Holland for visits to the Museum, as well as a two-way teacher exchange program. In addition, while at the Museum, the representatives of the Anne Frank House were acquainted with the history of the concentration camp, took part in the March of the Living, as well as met with representatives of the Centre for Dialogue and Prayer, the Jewish Center, and International Youth Meeting Center.
