Portraits: Auschwitz Concentration Camp 1940-1945. New Temporary Exhibition
An exhibition titled "Portraits..." will be on view at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum from March 7-September 30, 2000.
"Portraits: Auschwitz Concentration Camp 1940-1945" is a new exhibition in the cycle presenting works from the museum collections. It consists of 87 portraits done by prisoners, illegally or on orders from the SS. The artists include Xawery Dunikowski, Wincenty Gawron, Dinah Gottliebova (Babbitt), Stanislaw Gutkiewicz, Franciszek Jazwiecki, Mieczyslaw Koscielniak, Marian Ruzamski, and Leon Turalski.
The exhibition will be open to visitors in the temporary exhibition room in Block No. 12, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in March, and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in April.
