Art Works by an Auschwitz Prisoner from Goleszow
There are five drawings, in charcoal, on the wall of a building in Goleszow that housed an Auschwitz sub-camp during the Second World War.
The artist, the French Jew Jean Bartichand, was deported to Auschwitz from Drancy.
Since the future of the building is uncertain, the Museum decided to employ a specialist firm from Cracow to remove the drawings from the walls.
After restoration work, the pictures will be kept in the Museum Collections Department.
