A reminder about history. Residents of Oświęcim and the vicinity tour the Auschwitz site
On September 15, the director of the Museum invited interested residents of Oświęcim and the vicinity to a meeting and a tour of the Auschwitz site. The event featured a presentation of new exhibition elements intended to make it easier to visit and understand the Memorial.
Attention was also drawn to two new exhibitions, the "Sauna" building at the Birkenau site and the permanent exhibition opened in August on the destruction of the Roma in Auschwitz (see "August" above).
Part of the Beskidy Festival of Science and Art, the meeting was also an occasion for pondering the issues of coexistence raised by the proximity of the former death camp site to a city with a population of more than 40,000.
