A PRIZE FOR THE MUSEUM

Results have been announced in the 1999 Museum Event of the Year contest. A jury chaired by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage awarded first prize in the Publication category to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum for "Auschwitz 1940-1945.

Studien zur Geschichte des Konzentrazions- und Vernichtungslager Auschwitz, the five-volume German-language version of Auschwitz 1940-1945: Central Issues in the history of the Camp." (English version titled "Auschwitz 1940-1945. Central Issues in the History of the Camp" is to appear in September 2000)

In this same competition, Third Prize in the "Promotional, Educational and Informational Program" category was won by "You Are There to Bear Witness," prepared by members of the Education Center staff at the Museum.
