A New Internet Server for the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum
True Data Technology, headquartered in Carlsbad, CA, has presented the Museum with a cutting-edge internet server to upgrade its website. The site, available in Polish, English, and German, has attracted 750,000 hits from around the world, and traffic continues to grow.
The increasing size of the data base and the rise in traffic led to frequent bottlenecks and slowdowns. The only solution was a new server, but the Museum could not afford one.
Therefore, the Museum posted an appeal for help on its website last May. True Data Technology responded by donating cutting-edge equipment worth over $2,500.00.
Thanks!
The idea for the donation originated with Michel Azaria of the French Judeo-Spanish in Auschwitz Foundation, who had earlier helped the Museum to set up a new module devoted to preservation issues. Azaria and his friends, Barbara Taverna and Randolph S. Shiner, got True Data CEO Andrew C. Palenscar interested enough that he decided on the donation. We thank all of them! We also thank Brett Guisande and John Hyde of True Data who configured the server, Arrow Electronics, and Intel Corporation, as well as everyone else who helped carry out this project.
