The international conference of the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure

The international conference of the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI), co-organised by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, crowned the four-year project concerning the documentation of the Holocaust in Eastern Europe. The main goal of the project was to arrange an exchange of experiences between people who work on documenting the history of the Holocaust, as well as to design a website providing access to many archival sources on the extermination of the Jews.

“Remember!” – A Temporary Exhibition on the 70th Anniversary of the Extermination of the Jews

The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of the Jews deported in the summer of 1944 - 70 years ago - from Hungary to the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. It is taking place in the temporary exhibition hall in Block 12 on the premises of the former Auschwitz I camp.

The third session of the Auschwitz Council

Preparations for the 70th anniversary of liberation of the former Nazi German concentration camp were the most important issue during the session of The International Council of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. The Auschwitz Council, appointed by the he minister of culture and art, supervises the statutory activity of the Museum and gives an opinion on plans for its actions.

The 23rd March of the Living

On April 28 the 23th March of the Living took place at the former Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. Approximately ten thousand people, mostly young Jews from all around the world, but also a large group of Polish youth, marched from the 'Arbeit macht frei' gate at Auschwitz I to Auschwitz II-Birkenau. It was the last March of the Living before the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp falling on 27th of January 2015.

The story of the transports of Jews deported from Hungary to the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz 70 years ago, in summer 1944, will be available to follow at the Auschwitz Memorial Facebook page, as well as through other social media of the Museum.

The multilingual collection of books is one of the largest covering the history of the Nazi German Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. The collection is constantly updated with new publications.
