Prince Albert II of Monaco with Princess Charlene visited the site of the largest former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. "The flame of our memory will never die," the princely couple wrote in the visitor's book at the end of the visit to Auschwitz I.

Jerzy Wróblewski, who was for many years the director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, has been awarded the Legion of Honour. In handing him the highest French decoration, , Ambassador of France in Poland, highlighted his contribution to preserving the memory of Auschwitz: “Being a guard of the authenticity in the Museum for many years you have managed to reach an increasing number of visitors from all over the world. For being faithful to the memory in this special place, with respect to which no European or citizen of the world can be neutral, France has awarded you with the order of the Legion of Honour,” the ambassador summed up.

Up to 6 million euros will be transferred to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Perpetual Fund by Austria. The agreement was signed during the meeting of the Foundation International Committee with its president, Dr. Piotr MA Cywiński, and Hannah Lessing, the secretary general of the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for victims of National Socialism.

Two virtual exhibitions prepared by the Auschwitz Memorial Site may be viewed as a part of the Google Cultural Institute Internet platform launched on October 10, 2012. The official inauguration of the project in Poland took place in the Kubicki Arcades at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in the presence of Bogdan Zdrojewski, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and Dr. Piotr M.A. Cywiński, director of the Auschwitz Museum.

"Teaching about the Holocaust from a European perspective" is the title of the Polish-Dutch educational programme implemented by the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz Museum and the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam.
