The next region has joined the project “Auschwitz — History — Civic Education”, realized jointly by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust and the Prison Service. Agreement in this matter was signed by Dr. Piotr M.A. Cywiński, Director of the Museum and Lt. Col. Marek Grabek, Regional Director of the Prison Service in Rzeszów.

Volunteers and representatives of institutions supporting volunteerism at the Memorial Site were honoured with the awards "If Not for Those Ten..." The award was presented at the 68th anniversary of the Museum at the former Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The Council of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation met for the seventh time on the 25rd of June 2015 at the Office of the Prime Minister of Poland in Warsaw. The primary task of the Foundation is to finance the preservation of the authentic remains of the former Nazi German Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp.

Events were held in Tarnów and Oświęcim on June 12 and 13 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the first transport of Polish political prisoners to the German Nazi Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp.

The challenges related to the growing number of visitors to the Auschwitz Memorial, work on the new main exhibition of the Museum, as well as the summary of commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz were some of the topics of the International Auschwitz Council (IAC) meeting. The 28th session of the Council, which took place in Oświęcim on 1 and 2 June was chaired by Prof. Barbara Engelking. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister for Culture and National Heritage Piotr Żuchowski.

We are pleased to announce the opening of the Third International Summer Academy in German organized by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, as part of educational programs organized at the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. It will take place on August – 28 August 2015. Application deadline is July 10, 2015.
