Education

The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust

Promotes knowledge about the history of Auschwitz on the Museum grounds and elsewhere. Basic tasks of the Center include working with school students and teachers, institutions in Poland and other countries, research centers, and youth study groups.

The Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Yad Vashem cooperate in systematic study exchanges for museum practitioners and teachers from Poland and Israel.

Educational work includes lectures, museum lessons, teachers’ conferences, symposia, film screenings, drawing contests, and contests for essays about Auschwitz. In cooperation with Polish institutions of higher education, the ICEAH also organizes postgraduate courses on the Holocaust for teachers.

The Visitor Service Section, which facilitates, keeps statistics on, and analyzes the flow of visitors, is an important part of the Center.
