Information in the underground press
As mentioned above, local Polish resistance groups received the material that the prisoners smuggled out of the camp. They also carried out their own intelligence-gathering operations to acquire as much information as possible about Auschwitz and the fate of the people deported there.
The Polish resistance movement used the information in the secret messages and documents, as well as their own findings, to inform the Polish public about Nazi crimes through the underground press, and especially, the Information Bulletin published by ZWZ/AK headquarters and the socialist WRN and Liberty.
