CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP

Brochures and books

Some released prisoners also supplied information about Auschwitz that served as the basis for brochures and books. A noteworthy example is journalist Natalia Zarembina’s 1942 Death Camp, which was reprinted in London in 1943, and in English versions in London and Washington and a Spanish edition in Mexico City the following year.

In 1944, the Polish underground published a German-language brochure titledTeeth from Auschwitz containing information about the killing of the Jews in the gas chambers and the use of the gold from their teeth to meet the needs of the Third Reich.
