AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU FORMER GERMAN NAZI CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP
On 27 January 2026, we will commemorate the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. The event is held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
“Ecce Homo – The Person and the Face” is the title of an exhibition by Dr. Artur Kapturski, opened at the Auschwitz Museum hostel. The exhibition presents over 650 oil paintings, portraits of prisoners of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. The works are based on preserved registration photographs from the Museum Archives.
The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust invites you to a webinar titled “Auschwitz: Holocaust and the Memory of the Victims”, which will take place on 22 January. The webinar will be held on the Zoom platform and will be simultaneously translated into English.
Images from www.auschwitz.org may be used only in publications relating to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau or the activities of the Auschwitz Memorial. Their use must not tarnish the good reputation of the victims of KL Auschwitz. Any interference in the integrity of the images – including cropping or graphic processing – is prohibited. The use of the images for commercial purposes requires the Museum’s approval and information about the publication.
