Additional information for visually impaired persons

Visiting the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Site

You may enter the Museum grounds with an assistance dog on presentation of a certificate of appropriate training and a current vaccination booklet. The dog must be led on a leash.

The VSC has specially marked floor paths for those with visual impairments.

A mock-up depicting the site of the former camp with a description in Braille is available in front of the entrance to the Memorial.

At the ENTRY PASSES desk in the Visitors' Service Centre, visitors can borrow Polish guides (A3 size) with Braille descriptions at no cost.

 

ONLINE LESSONS

The Museum's online lessons available at lesson.auschwitz.org comply with the WCAG 2.1 standard and can therefore be read by visually impaired visitors.


PODCASTS

The Auschwitz Museum's YouTube and Vimeo channels offer podcasts in the series 'About Auschwitz', discussing the camp's most important historical issues.
