Each study visit includes a guided tour of the grounds of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz and workshops held at national exhibitions, led by an ICEAH educator.

The main language of the program is English, with the option for additional languages for tours or workshops, depending on availability.

The main goal of the project is to invite young people to engage in a profound reflection on the fate of those deported to Auschwitz from various parts of occupied Europe during World War II and to apply these reflections to contemporary moral challenges.

"80 years from the liberation of Auschwitz, we increasingly feel the need to preserve the memory of the people who became victims of this place. Today’s memory faces many challenges, including the passage of time, cultural distance, the loss of traditional reference points, the rise of antagonisms and hostility toward certain social groups, and the escalation of political radicalism," emphasized Andrzej Kacorzyk, director of ICEAH.

Thematic workshops at the national exhibitions provide an opportunity to explore the history of Auschwitz from various perspectives. They offer a chance to focus on the stories of different victim groups and to view the history through the lens of individuals from various European countries who were persecuted and deported to Auschwitz by Nazi Germany.

Groups may select one of the following workshop topics:

• Questions About the Holocaust – Summary session in the Reflection Room at the "Shoah" exhibition
• " A Piece of the World Surrounded by Barbed Wire… – The fate of Polish citizens in KL Auschwitz
• "The Extermination of the Sinti and Roma"
• People Deported from France to KL Auschwitz – Workshop at the French exhibition
• Far Removed. Austria and Auschwitz – Workshop at the Austrian exhibition
• Persecution and Deportation of Jews from the Netherlands (1940-1945) – Workshop at the Dutch exhibition
• "The Citizen Betrayed" – Jews deported from Hungary to KL Auschwitz – Workshop at the Hungarian exhibition
• Auschwitz Prisoners from Czech Lands in KL Auschwitz – Workshop at the Czech exhibition
• Belgium 1940-1944: Occupation and Deportations to KL Auschwitz – Workshop at the Belgian exhibition.

An important aspect of organizing a study visit is properly preparing young people for it and its summary. The museum's materials and lesson plans, which can be used in the classroom, along with multi-books designed for independent work, can help.
