"The Role of the Archive at the Memorial Site" - webinar, 11 September 2024

The International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust invites you to participate in the educational session "The Role of the Archive at the Memorial Site," dedicated to the collection, storage, accessibility, and preservation of archival materials related to the history of the German Nazi camp Auschwitz. The session will be held online via the Zoom platform on 11 September 2024, and will be simultaneously translated into English.

 

During the session, the Archives and Preservation staff will present on topics such as the role of the Archive in preserving the memory of Auschwitz, the digital archive, and audiovisual collections. Issues related to the conservation of historical documents and the use of laboratory research for this purpose will also be discussed.

Participation in the session is free. Please submit your registration using the online form by 8 September 2024. After this date, you will receive an email with a link to join the meeting.

The Archives of the Museum include original German camp documents, copies of documents received from other institutions at home and abroad, post-war source materials (memories, testimonies of former prisoners, trial materials concerning criminals), as well as photographs, microfilms, negatives, documentary films.

The Auschwitz Memorial Archive collects, preserves, and makes available archival materials primarily related to the history of the German Auschwitz camp.
