“Konzentrationslager Auschwitz” exhibition in Italy
The exhibition “German Nazi Death Camp Konzentrationslager Auschwitz” was opened in Italy in the city of Latina.
The historical exhibition prepared by the Museum presents all the most important issues on the history of Auschwitz, as well as the genesis of the Nazi movement and the specific elements of the German system of terror introduced in occupied Poland.
The ceremonial opening was attended by the director of the ICEAH, Andrzej Kacorzyk. “The Auschwitz Museum was established after the war in 1947. Since then, it mission is defined by two keywords. The first are the words contained in the Act of the Sejm: “Preserve for all time”. The second words are “Never again,” he said. “Never again” is also the message of the each ceremony commemorating the victims. “Never again” is with us today during this ceremony. The exhibition recalls Auschwitz. Through this, however, it also warns against deceptive and false ideas,” added Kacorzyk.
Everything has been constructed chronologically-thematically based on the source and ;iconographic materials of Auschwitz Museum. These are: photographs, documents, illegal pictures created by prison artists, as well as post-war works carried out by surviving witnesses illustrating the facts of everyday life in the camp.
The exhibition can be viewed in Italy until the end of May.
