AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU FORMER GERMAN NAZI CONCENTRATION AND EXTERMINATION CAMP
Exclusions were the topic of an international educational conference organised by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz Museum entitled "If This Is a Man" Exclusions in the Modern World".
"Sport and Sportspeople in KL Auschwitz" is a new temporary exhibition at the Auschwitz Memorial that tells the story of sport and sportspeople deported to the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz through archival material, artworks and original objects.
On the 74th anniversary of establishing of the Museum at the site of the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, we are announcing the winners of “If Not for Those Ten…” awards. They go to our volunteers and representatives of institutions supporting voluntary work at the Memorial. Among the 2021 winners there are persons from Poland, Spain, Japan, Austria.
Online conference of the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust dedicated to the fate of foresters deported to German Nazi camp Auschwitz and addressed to Polish State Forests staff was held on June 29th.
The 8th edition of the International Summer Academy in German – “Auschwitz – history, memory and education” will take place on August 23-27 2021. The program has been organized by the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust at the Auschwitz Birkenau State Museum in cooperation with Pädagogische Hochschule Wien.
A dog tag belonging to one of the SS camp garrison members at the Auschwitz German Nazi concentration and extermination camp has been donated to the Auschwitz Memorial. It is the second item of this kind in the Museum's Collection.
Images from www.auschwitz.org may be used only in publications relating to the history of the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau or the activities of the Auschwitz Memorial.
