GDPR

In connection with the organization of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, in order to ensure the safety of all those present at the commemoration event, the Museum is obliged to collect basic personal data of those present at the commemoration. We assure you that all the data is processed with respect for your privacy and in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.
 

The following information will be required from Polish citizens:

  • name and surname,
  • telephone number or e-mail address,
  • PESEL number
     

From foreign citizens, the following will be required:

  • name and surname,
  • telephone number or e-mail address,
  • date of birth,
  • citizenship,
  • series and number of the identity document,
  • type of document and the country that issued it.
     

Below you will find detailed legal information regarding the processing of your personal data.

Pursuant to Art. 13(1) and (2) of Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Journal of Laws of the EU L 119 of 04.05.2016 p. 1), hereinafter “GDPR”), please be informed that:

1. The data controller of your personal data is the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim, ul. Więźniów Oświęcimia 20, 32-600 Oświęcim, tel. no. +48/33/844 80 03, e-mail address: (hereinafter referred to as “Museum”).

2. The Personal Data Protection Officer in the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum can be contacted via

3. The personal data:

3.1. for Polish citizens in the form of: name, surname, telephone number/e-mail, and the PESEL number;

3.2. for foreigners in the form of: name, surname, telephone number/e-mail, date of birth, citizenship, document type, document series and number, the country that issued the document, 

shall be processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(d) and (e) of the GDPR (for ordinary data) of the GDPR for the purpose related to the organisation of the Commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz (hereinafter referred to as “Commemoration”), in connection with the implementation by the Museum of its statutory activity.

4. The data may be shared with entities authorised to receive data pursuant to the applicable law exclusively when they file a request based on relevant legal provisions. The data may be shared with entities which provide the services related to arranging the Commemoration.

5. The personal data shall be stored for a period necessary to prove the rights and obligations of the data controller before competent authorities.

6. Provision of personal data referred to in Section 3 shall condition participation in the Commemoration. The lack of provision of personal data will render the realization of the abovementioned procedures impossible.

7. No processing of personal data in automated manner is planned.

8. The processing of personal data is related to the following rights:

8.1. right of access to the content of data and right to rectify, remove, limit processing, right to transfer data, right to file an objection against data processing, including profiling:

8.2. right to file a complaint to the President of the Office of Personal Data Protection, should it be determined that the processing of personal data violates the GDPR provisions.

9. For broadly understood security reasons, you may not be entitled to the rights referred to in point 8 in whole or in part. Refusal to exercise the above rights will always be based on the provisions of the law.
