The accreditation process for media covering the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz has been completed.

MAIN COMMEMORATION EVENT

The main commemoration event of the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz will take place in the building of the so-called Central Sauna on the grounds of the former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp. The television signal from the ceremony will be produced by the Polish Television (TVP), which will provide it free of charge to all interested outlets. The signal will be available via satellite transmission, online, and in the Press Center.

Each media using the broadcast signal is required to send confirmation of its use to press@auschwitz.org by January 31, 2026

PRESS CENTER

The Press Center will be located on the grounds of the former Auschwitz I camp, in the building of the International Center for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust. It will be open from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Journalists will be able to follow the live TV signal from the commemoration event there, with interpretation provided. In the vicinity of the building, there will also be space for live broadcasts from the historic site of the Memorial.

PLEASE NOTE: With the exception of a designated group of agency photographers, journalists will not be present inside the space of the main event.

COMMEMORATION AT THE WALL OF DEATH

At 10:00 a.m., a group of Survivors will commemorate the victims of Auschwitz at the Wall of Death on the grounds of the former Auschwitz I camp. This event is open to photojournalists and camera operators. Those wishing to attend are asked to indicate this in the accreditation form.

During the anniversary commemorations, no meetings with Survivors are planned.
