In the face of growing racism, antisemitism, acts of aggression and hatred in the world, it is necessary to make societies aware of what the outcome may be. Auschwitz is a warning for the modern world. Therefore, Holocaust education must have a historical as well as a moral and social dimension. The Diplomacy of Remembrance understood as such encompasses activities in the fields of culture, the arts, education, protection of cultural assets and national heritage, and protection of freedom and human rights.
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Institute is engaged in international cooperation and offers numerous cultural, social and educational projects in close partnership with the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. The Institute aims to build and continuously expand the network of people involved in diplomacy of remembrance and to reach out to those who have not yet visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial. The Institute undertakes these activities in partnership with institutions dealing with the subject of the Holocaust in the world, educational and cultural institutions, associations, with people committed to the issue or interested in getting involved.
We are convinced that through Diplomacy of Remembrance, we can participate in shaping responsible, sensitive and committed people and societies, and counteract the spread of racism and intolerance.
We invite you to get involved and cooperate with us.
