Andrzej Kacorzyk

Pedagogue, a graduate of the College of Pedagogical Sciences in Opole, Teachers' College of Foreign Languages, postgraduate studies at the Jagiellonian University in history and museology. As of 2 July 2012, deputy director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum in Oświęcim in charge of the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust.
Since 1984 he has worked in primary schools in Podhale in Bańska Wyżna and then in Osiek. He has been associated with the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial as a guide since 1997. Since 1 February 1998, he has worked at the newly established Museum Education Centre, and a year later as its manager. Following the creation of the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust on the initiative of former prisoners and by decision of the Polish government, he became its organisational director. From 2009 to 2012, he was head of the Visitors' Service Department.
He is a member of the Council of the Martyrological Museum in Żabików overseeing the Memorial of the former extermination camp Kulmhof (since 2016), the Foundation Council for the International Youth Meeting House in Oświęcim (2012-2017 and since 2017) and the Council of the Museum of Jewish Refugees in Shanghai (since 2018).
He is also a member of the Council of the "Für die Zukunft lernen" Verein zur Erhaltung der Kinderbaracke Auschwitz-Birkenau e.V.
