This issue's main article studies the matter of orchestras in KL Auschwitz written by Jacek Lachendro. This article aims to present the history of the prisoner orchestras1* in the Auschwitz camp complex—their origins, the tasks set for them by the camp administration, the conditions under which they functioned, their makeup in terms of numbers and ethnic or national origins, their repertoire, and their role in the camp.
