Meeting XXVIII: 1-2 June 2015

On 1 and 2 June 2015, the 28th session of the International Auschwitz Council under the Prime Minister of Poland was held at the Centre for Dialogue and Prayer in Oświęcim. The session was presided over by Prof. Barbara Engelking. The session was preceded by a minute silence in honour of late Professor Władysław Bartoszewski a former prisoner of Auschwitz and long-standing chairman of the Council.

The 27th session of the International Auschwitz Council was held on 1 October 2014 in Warsaw under the chairmanship of Professor Władysław Bartoszewski.

The 26th session of the International Auschwitz Council was held 10-11 June 2014 in Oświęcim under the chairmanship of Władysław Bartoszewski.

Meeting XXIV: June 17-18, 2013

The traditional session of the Council started with the report of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum Director, Piotr Cywiński, Ph.D. The Director reported , among other things, the still increasing number of visitors (in spite of a significant drop in the number of Polish school groups), restoration plans and works, budget issues, educational and publishing priorities. A large part of the speech was devoted to the necessary and large projects: global preservation plan financed from the resources in the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation, adaptation of the building of the Old Theatre for the International Centre for Education about Auschwitz and the Holocaust, and the erection of the new desk centre from the side of the former bus station.

Meeting XXIII: 10 September 2012

The first session of the International Auschwitz Council of the 2012-2018 term of office, chaired by Władysław Bartoszewski was held on 10 September 2012 at the office of the Prime Minister.

Meeting XXII: 18 January 2012

On 18 January 2012, the last session of the 2006-2012 tenure of the International Auschwitz Council was held in the Prime Minister's Office. At the beginning of the meeting, the participants observed a minute silence for the departed Noah Flug, a former prisoner and long-standing member of the Council.
